Full Membership

Subscription Membership to GS1 Australia is based on annual subscription to be paid every year. This amount is dependent on your company's recorded annual turnover (or in the case of new companies, expected turnover) and your membership type.

Turnover is deemed to be the aggregate Australian based revenue of your organisation including all related companies for a twelve month period, regardless of the number of products utilising the GS1 System.

For Government and statutory organisations, revenue includes income from the sale of products and services as well as any Government appropriations, contributions, subsidies or other Government distributions and funding.

  • Services - Locations Assets - Logistics units - Service Relationship
  • Organisations using GS1 Identification Keys and Barcode Symbols to identify their products

Upon joining the GS1 community you’ll enjoy access to the GS1 System: a series of standards designed to improve your supply chain efficiency.

The GS1 System makes possible the unique identification of all trade items, processes, services, shipments, assets, companies and locations to facilitate communication, data collection and exchanges of information in the interest of trading partners. Founded on a common set of globally recognised identification keys and attribute data , the GS1 System is composed of four key product areas:

  • 1. Global data and application standards for barcodes
  • 2. Global standards for electronic business messaging
  • 3. Global Data Synchronisation Network™ (GDSN) allowing all partners to have consistent item data in an automated, standards-based global environment
  • 4. EPCglobal providing standards for the Electronic Product Code™ (EPC) to support the use of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)
