Barcode

The only place to get an Authorised GS1 BarCode

For over 25 years, GS1 Australia has helped companies of every size and industry use the GS1 System, other industry standard barcodes, and electronic commerce.

Need a Barcode?

The first step to placing a GS1 BarCode on your product is determining how many barcodes you need. Each barcode represents a number. GS1 allocates these numbers to you. The numbers are called Global Trade item Number (GTINs).

How many Barcodes do I need?

If you are a small to medium business you may only require one to five numbers. As your business grows, your requirements for more numbers will also grow. GS1 Australia caters for all needs.

One to Five Barcodes (Your average annual turnover must be less than $1 million)
Individual Barcode Numbers (GTINs)*
In the long term if you foresee your business requiring more than five numbers it is a greater cost benefit to apply for full membership. Full Membership provides your business with a GS1 Company Prefix. This gives you the ability to allocate your numbers using your GS1 Company Prefix.
Additonal Individual Barcode Number (GTINs)*
If you are an existing Individual Barcode Number GS1 subscriber member and you require additional individual Barcode Numbers (GTINs) you can apply by submitting a completed application form.

* Note: Barcodes (GTINs) allocated must not be used for logistics labels or pallet identification (SSCCs)
